Martial to Discuss Surgery Options for Hip Injury with Manchester United Medical Department

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is set to have discussions with the club’s medical department regarding the possibility of undergoing surgery to correct a lingering hip injury. Martial, who has been suffering from this issue since December, has resumed training but is still unable to join Erik ten Hag’s team. The decision to opt for surgery will be made jointly with the medical team, considering the potential benefits and risks involved.

Since recovering from an illness that initially sidelined him in December, Martial has been following an individual training program to alleviate his hip problem. Despite his efforts, the 28-year-old is yet to regain full fitness. By working closely with Manchester United’s medical staff, the striker hopes to find a solution that will enable him to return to the pitch at his best.

Reports of a rift between Martial and Ten Hag have been denied by both the player’s camp and the club. Nevertheless, the French international’s future remains uncertain. Manchester United has decided against triggering a one-year extension in Martial’s contract, meaning he is likely to leave the club as a free agent when the summer transfer window opens. While the club was open to offers in January, it appears that Martial will stay at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.

Despite rumors suggesting interest from Turkish side Fenerbahce, a source familiar with the matter has confirmed to ESPN that Manchester United did not receive any contact regarding a potential January transfer deal for Martial. The club’s focus is currently on finding the best solution for the player’s injury and considering his long-term prospects.

With two goals in 19 appearances this season, Martial’s contribution has been relatively modest. However, his overall record at Manchester United speaks for itself. Since joining from Monaco in 2015, he has found the net 90 times in 317 matches, proving his value as a goal scorer.

On a more positive note, Manchester United’s injury woes have begun to ease. The return of Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro to the squad for the recent 2-2 draw against Tottenham provided a much-needed boost. While Mason Mount and Harry Maguire remain sidelined, defender Luke Shaw, who missed the last four games, is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming FA Cup fourth-round match against Newport.

Anthony Martial’s ongoing hip injury continues to hamper his performance at Manchester United. Discussions between the player and the club’s medical department will determine whether surgery is the best course of action to rectify the issue. With uncertainty surrounding his future, Martial’s focus will be on regaining full fitness and making a strong impact in the remaining matches of the season.
